Massacre of The Conestogas

Massacre of the Conestogas: On The Trail of the Paxton Boys in Lancaster County by Jack Brubaker, 2010.

This book traces the history of the 1763 massacre of the last Indians in Lancaster County by a group of frontiersman from what is now the Harrisburg area.  Brubaker traces not only the history of the massacre itself, but also the controversy that has followed it ever since.  This book breaks new ground in its approach to not only the event, but also how Lancasterians have dealt with this bloody tragedy.  I would highly recommend this title to anyone interested in local history, particularly that of early Lancaster County.
